Rank is not dependent on gender; Twilight Sparkle would still be considered the Captain of the Royal Guard. Still, an awesome job with the uniform.

Wait, would this mean that Prince Blueblood might try hitting on the Captain of the Royal Guard? Or would Princess Cadance fall for the Royal Librarian?
