My first thought is that this picture is absolutely adorable. I think it does a great job of capturing Pinkie and what she's all about. The brightness of the sun contrasts well with the stormy, gloomy scene to her other side and (in my opinion), represents the brightness and optimism that makes her the Element of laughter. 4.5 for vision because I can see very clearly what you're going for here. Though I'm not sure what the object is on the lower right side of the picture, a bale of hay, perhaps? Also, I envision Pinkie facing fully towards the sun she's painted. 4.5 for originality. The picture is similar to Pinkie's painting in the show, but I don't often see images of Pinkie like this, and it's definitely one of my favorites. 4.5 for technique because the style used here is very attractive and well done, although Pinkie's eye color appears to be off, and her nose is a bit pointed. I also like the brightness of the sun on one side and the darkness of the scene on the other. 5 for impact because this picture says a lot of things, has been well made, and clearly had thought and care put into it. Great work!
My initial reaction was that this is a very amazing piece of art, with great, great lighting; a piece that is very cute, and nice to look at.
VISION: I'm not really sure that this is trying to convey a point of view or not. I think it does kind of convey an idea if I think about it; a painter will bring joy through the rain. The vision is quite subtle, in a nice way, but I think a 3.5 will suffice because the vision might be a little unclear to those who aren't thinking out of the box.
Originality; I have to admit, I don't think I've seen a work quite like this. Something I can't put my finger on makes this piece in particular stand out in a way not many pictures do. Perfect 5/5.
Technique: Again, I love the lighting. The lighting is subtle, but strong nonetheless. I also like the emphasis on the painting to make the vision more clear, and that is very intuitive. I give 4.5.
Impact: I think this picture is very impactive on me in that it cheers me up when I'm blue. The vision, once you see it, makes you warm on the inside, which is what you need on a rainy day. Plus, Pinkie Pie makes me happy in general anyway. 4.0; if I had to give advice, I guess a little more "oomph" would be nice.
In the end I am glad I took a closer look at this and got myself a more thorough insight on this. A very fun picture to look at, and certainly worth one a favorite.
I like the bandanna. Something about it just fits.... Like how the straight hair represents her when she is sad and the poofy hair when happy? The bandanna seems to represent maturity which seems to make her more....... whole, I guess.
